A group break is a way to share one or more boxes of cards with other collectors. Instead of buying a box on your own and paying full price, a break lets you take part in the opening for a fraction of the price. The best part? You still have a shot at the big hits that get pulled. In a break, you're given one or more NHL teams. We then open the box or boxes live on camera, and every card from your teams goes to you.
Browse the breaks happening at our next event. Each break shows what will be drawn or opened, when it opens live, the price of a spot and how many spots are still available.
Sign in, or create an account if it's your first visit. You need a Nilo Cards account to buy a spot and take part in our breaks. It lets us follow up better with winners and improve your experience.
Each spot has one flat price, in Canadian dollars, plus sales tax. There's no bidding: the first person to pay gets the spot. The spot grid updates in real time for everyone, so a spot shows as sold the moment it's paid for.
Spot sales close at the break's start time (shown on the break page) or once every spot has been bought. At break time, we're live on YouTube (Nilo Cards). That's when Random spots are drawn among all participants.
After a break, we let you know which cards you won, if any. They'll show up in your account, or you'll get an email with that information. We then ship every card you won for free by standard mail (no tracking) to the address on your account. If you'd like a tracking number, let us know before 8:30 a.m. on the business day after the break by going to your account and paying $20 plus tax. We'll then email you the tracking number when the cards are mailed.
You pick one or more specific NHL teams. Each team has its own price, based on the quality of the cards that can be pulled, so prices vary by product and year. You get every card pulled in the break that belongs to the teams you picked.
You don't pick the team when you buy. At the start of the break, before the boxes are opened, we use the external site random.org to assign teams to participants. You get every card pulled in the break that belongs to the teams you were assigned.
Nilo Cards reserves the right to postpone, move or cancel a break for any reason (for example, if not every spot in a break sells). If a break is cancelled, every participant is refunded in full.
Nilo Cards also reserves the right to change the rules of its breaks at any time, without notice.
It's the buyer's responsibility to read the break rules before each break. By buying one or more spots, the buyer is deemed to have accepted the break rules.
Nilo Cards is in no way responsible for cards or merchandise that were mailed but not received by the buyer. Nilo Cards doesn't guarantee Canada Post delivery times and accepts no responsibility for merchandise stolen, lost or damaged in the mail.
We strongly recommend tracked shipping for high-value merchandise.
